LARGO, USA - Accuracy, repeatability and documentation of results are important factors when performing mechanical tests on plastic products and raw materials. The ideal machine for conducting mechanical tests should be simple to operate and the test results should be easy to read and export for further analysis.

The Chatillon CS2 series digital dynamometers meet these requirements, making it an ideal low-cost solution for force measurement applications that do not require complex material testing capabilities.

The CS2 series of dynamometers can perform the most common tests in the plastics industry, from basic static force tests to multi-step, cyclic tests, and more, at a fraction of the cost of advanced materials testing machines. The CS2 series dynamometers have a working throat depth of 180 mm, allowing the operator to test not only plastic products, but also a variety of plastic packaging materials.

The CS2 family is available in two load configurations, the CS2-225 can be used to test loads up to 1 kN (225 LBF) and the CS2-1100 can be used to test loads up to 5 kN (1100 LBF). Both dynamometers feature intuitive, easy-to-use touch-screen consoles for the operator. The unique user interface makes it easy to perform tensile, compression, bending, or advanced multi-stage tests that conform to ISO or ASTM standards.

The large, rugged touchscreen tablet is simple to operate and offers table and graphical results with embedded SPC functionality. Commonly used tests can be customized to display on the startup screen for quick testing. Data can be displayed on the screen or easily exported. Test results are stored as CSV files and can be automatically exported to local or remote drives over Ethernet connections or WiFi communication, as well as USB devices. Test results can also be exported via RS-232 for easy production control.

The CS2 series is a stand-alone, flexible test system that does not require complex software or programming language knowledge to get started. To improve security, the CS2 series of force-measuring systems offer two levels of user access and can be password protected.
